In this week’s Torah portion we read about Miriam leading a victory celebration. I’ll take this opportunity to explore her entire life. In previous articles I discussed Miriam’s role in helping Pharaoh’s daughter adopt Moses, her interaction with Moses regarding his Cushite wife and the significance of Miriam’s death. You would think there wouldn’t be much left to explore about her life. Just those few matters of being struck with “leprosy” and dancing at the sea and being called a prophetess. Read more…
